This was a commissioned oil painting I did for one of my Mum's workmates. He had asked me to paint him something a few months ago, after seeing my other work. At the time, I didn't really take it seriously, but Mum bragged me to paint a tiger for him (seeing he's born in the year of the tiger).
It's my first time really painting an animal and this proved a challenge in many ways because of my lack in experience with oils, but it's also been very rewarding - I've improved heaps through the process and it's a lot more realistic than my other oil paintings.
Spent five lessons painting this with the supervision of my teacher, so that's roughly 10 hours. I feel a bit sad that I have to part with it... kind of like the dragon.
